Chamber Chat Youtube Playlist

Chamber Chats Promote Austin Members (and they're fun!)

We started making our Chamber Chat videos in December as a way to help promote our members in a warm and personal setting. We get more excited about Austin and the work we do for members each time we complete one.

This week we sat down with Gina Grundmeier to chat about Pay It Forward, which is such a great program making a huge difference in the lives of local families in need. Pay It Forward will tackle two renovation projects this March, which is a huge undertaking. They need helping hands in both the physical sense and in the financial sense.

You can watch the Pay It Forward Chamber Chat here to learn how you can help.

Considering the weather over the next couple of days, you might as well peruse all our Chamber Chat videos on our YouTube playlist. Subscribe to the channel while you're there, make a cup of hot cocoa, and enjoy!

Online Reviews Get Attention: Good or Bad

One of the most train-wrecky social media horror stories happened when a little bistro in Arizona, Amy's Baking Company, took it upon themselves to go to war with every negative customer review they received.

This did not go well for them. Yes, they garnered a lot more attention, but not the right kind.

When our customers take time to leave a review, we have to recognize they are going out of their way to do so. That means, good or bad, their experience meant enough to them that they were motivated to respond.

Learn the lesson of Amy's Baking when it comes to negative reviews: keep a level head and don't overreact.

Even negative or average reviews give you a chance to take feedback onboard and fix any glaring problems in service or product. Sometimes a negative review may be an anomaly, and you need to verify if it's a unique situation or whether other customers have similar experiences.

Of course, the best situation is a five-star review with glowing praise. These are gold for a business, because they are social proof that give enough confidence to other potential customers to try you out.

Speaking of glowing reviews, if you love being a member of the Austin Area Chamber of Commerce, would you take a moment to leave us a review and tell people what you like about being a member?

Thank you for being a member!
