SUMMARY:3rd Annual Fall Harvest Celebration
DESCRIPTION:The Mower County Historical Society invites everyone to take part in the 3rd Annual Fall Harvest Celebration! Festivities will be held on Saturday\, October 10 from 12 to 4 PM at the historical society on the east side of the fairgrounds. Admission is free but donations are accepted.\n\nThis year?s celebration will include favorite activities of previous years with some new ones to keep the family entertained. Go for a ride around the fairgrounds on a wagon or hop inside a 1921 Model T for an afternoon drive. Interested in small engines? Come see local small engine enthusiasts demonstrate what they can do. Bring the kids to make their own wax candle\, a rag doll\, and press their own apple cider! Join a former school teacher for harvest time storytelling. And of course\, climb aboard the 1004 steam engine and ring the bell!\n\nDon?t forget to check out other activities. One new activity will be an oat threshing demonstration. Historical society volunteers will put on the demonstration and is a must see for everyone. Also new this year is an item in our food stand\, old fashioned bottles of pop from Spring Grove Bottling Co. Come try a bottle or take some home for later. \n\nWhen you?re finished with all the fun activities or just need a little break\, stop by the food stand for homemade chili or pie and ice cream. Looking for something tasty to take home? Stop by the bake sale to purchase pies\, lefse\, and other harvest foods that can be a special treat at home. Musical entertainment will be provided during the event by JJ?s Pickup Band\, Jack Koppa and his concertina\, and even a fiddler or two!\n\nEnjoy an afternoon with the Mower County Historical Society and celebrate the fall season! For more information call (507) 437-6082.
