Relay for Life - Freeborn-Mower
The Relay For Life of Freeborn-Mower is a community gathering dedicated to honoring those affected by cancer, remembering loved ones, and raising funds to fight back against the disease. The event focuses on four meaningful pillars:
Celebration of Survivors The event kicks off by celebrating local cancer survivors. Friends, family, and community members are encouraged to attend, line the track, and cheer on survivors during their opening lap. Attendees are welcome to bring noisemakers, pom-poms, and pep-rally gear to show their enthusiastic support.
Celebration of Caregivers Following the survivor lap, caregivers—including friends, family members, and healthcare workers who have supported someone through their cancer journey—are invited to join the survivors on the track. Attendees will once again line the track to cheer them on and recognize their vital support.
Meaningful Luminaria After sunset, the community takes time to remember those lost to cancer and reflect on the journeys of survivors. Relay teams help light dedicated luminaria bags around the track, which can be personalized in honor or in memory of a loved one through a donation or fundraising effort.
Opportunity to Fight Back This event is a powerful opportunity for the community to come together and stand united against cancer. Everyone is invited to bring family and friends, support the fundraising efforts of fellow Relayers, and commit to finding new ways to fight back against the disease.
