Roads Taken: Art Exhibit

“Roads Taken” features the work of artists who were once community college students. These makers have since charted creative careers and ways forward in their artwork, and this exhibition stands as a testament to their dedication to personal vision and artistic growth. As I considered whom to invite, I thought of artists whose work inspires me and whose paths in life made me reflect on my own journey. Each artist brings a distinct voice and approach, revealing how the creative life spark takes shape in material form. From typography, bookmaking, drawing and collage to the use of found imagery and paintings of city life, each of these artists use their medium to playfully and profoundly carry their messages. Once, we shared a specific place and time of creative exploration. Now, each is traveling their own road, and the work in this show marks some signposts along the way.
