Drain Cleaning Jetter Operator

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and safety-focused Drain Cleaning Jetter Operator to operate high-pressure water jetting equipment to clean, clear, and maintain sewer and drain systems. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical skills, understands underground piping systems, and can work efficiently in field conditions while maintaining safety and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities

  • Operate high-pressure water jetting equipment to clean and clear drains, sewer lines, and storm systems
  • Operate sewer camera(s) and locating equipment
  • Remove grease, roots, debris, scale, and other obstructions from pipelines
  • Inspect drain and sewer systems before and after jetting operations
  • Set up, operate, and break down jetting equipment safely and efficiently
  • Select appropriate jetting nozzles and pressure settings for various pipe materials and conditions
  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections on jetting equipment and trucks
  • Identify potential pipe damage or system issues and report findings to supervisors or customers
  • Complete service reports, job documentation, and safety checklists accurately
  • Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and confined space procedures (if applicable)
  • Communicate clearly with customers, crew members, and supervisors
  • This job will also support the organization and inventory of the shop as well as support other departments as needed.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Knowledge of sewer and drain systems, pipe materials, and jetting techniques
  • Ability to read work orders, site plans, and safety documentation
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team
Experience
  • 1–3 years of experience operating hydro jetting or drain cleaning equipment preferred
  • Experience in plumbing, wastewater, utility maintenance, or construction a plus
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs
  • Ability to work in confined spaces, wet environments, and varying weather conditions
  • Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, climbing, and handling high-pressure hoses
Licenses & Certifications
  • Valid driver’s license 
  • OSHA safety training preferred
  • Confined space entry certification a plus
Work Environment
  • Field-based work at residential, commercial, municipal, and industrial job sites
  • On-call, overtime, nights, or weekend work may be required
