About Us
At Austin Public Schools, our mission is to Inspire, Empower, and Accelerate every learner. Austin Public Schools serves approximately 5,200 students at 9 different sites, including a community learning center, an all-day Kindergarten center, four elementary schools, one intermediate school, one middle school, and one high school. We serve a highly diverse population of students who speak more than 45 different home languages. In order to more effectively serve our students, we have developed partnerships with many different organizations, including The Hormel Foundation, the University of Minnesota, and the MacPhail Center for Music.
Our district has established rigorous educational outcomes for all learners with a focus on project-based learning and STEAM curriculum. Technology plays a huge role throughout the district, with a district-wide fiber optic network powering a wide variety of devices, from iPads and computer labs at the lower levels to our 1:1 initiative, which provides all students grades 5-12 with a laptop for learning. We are a recognized leader in the state of Minnesota in the use of best practices and research-based curriculum.
In short, Austin Public Schools is an amazing place to work, with stellar opportunities in the classroom, on the stage, on the athletic field, and even after graduation.
