Scott Felten serves as the elected County Auditor-Treasurer for Mower County, based in Austin, MN. The Auditor-Treasurer's Office serves as the central financial, licensing, and elections hub for the county, dedicated to delivering transparent, efficient, and reliable public services to all residents, property owners, and local business entities across the region.
Our office is responsible for a diverse range of critical civic functions. We manage the collection and distribution of all real estate, personal property, and mobile home taxes, ensuring funds are properly allocated to school districts, cities, and townships. We also maintain vital records, issuing birth, death, and marriage certificates, alongside processing marriage licenses and notary public services. Additionally, our department administers all local, state, and federal elections, handling voter registration, absentee ballot requests, and the tabulating of local election results. For businesses, we oversee county-level licensing for auctioneers, transient merchants, and alcohol or tobacco sales located outside city limits.
