Freeborn Mower Electric Cooperative (FMEC) is a member-owned, not-for-profit electric utility that has proudly powered rural communities across Freeborn and Mower counties since 1936. Headquartered in Albert Lea and serving the greater Austin area, FMEC provides reliable, safe, and environmentally responsible electric energy services to thousands of residential, agricultural, commercial, and industrial members throughout South Central Minnesota. Guided by cooperative principles, FMEC focuses on delivering cost-effective power while maintaining infrastructure excellence. They offer advanced account management through the SmartHub platform, giving members 24/7 access to monitor usage data, view historical billing, and complete payments seamlessly.
