About Us
The Mower County Fair is an annual community event held in Austin, Minnesota, celebrating agriculture, youth achievement, entertainment, and local heritage. As one of the region’s most anticipated summer traditions, the fair features livestock shows, 4-H and FFA exhibits, carnival rides, live music, food vendors, and a wide variety of family-friendly activities. Visitors can explore agricultural displays, watch competitions showcasing cattle, swine, sheep, and poultry, and enjoy educational exhibits highlighting local farming and rural life.
In addition to agricultural programming, the fair offers grandstand entertainment including concerts, tractor pulls, demolition derbies, and other special events that draw visitors from across southeastern Minnesota. The midway provides rides, games, and concessions for all ages, while indoor and outdoor exhibit halls showcase crafts, horticulture, photography, and community projects.
The Mower County Fair plays an important role in supporting youth development through 4-H and FFA participation, giving young people opportunities to exhibit projects, build responsibility, and gain public presentation experience. The fair continues to serve as a cornerstone community event, bringing together families, farmers, and visitors each year to celebrate local culture and agriculture.
