About Us

The Parenting Resource Center (PRC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening families and supporting healthy communities throughout southeastern Minnesota. Located in downtown Austin, PRC provides parenting education, family support services, supervised visitation and exchange programs, immigrant and newcomer assistance through its Welcome Center, and access to essential resources including diapers, children's clothing, and basic needs assistance. The organization serves parents, caregivers, grandparents, foster families, and professionals with educational programs, workshops, referrals, and family-centered services designed to promote healthy child development and strong family relationships. Since 1977, PRC has worked to empower families by offering compassionate support, practical resources, and prevention-focused education in a welcoming, inclusive environment. Conveniently located in the Community Action Building, the Parenting Resource Center partners with local organizations to help individuals and families connect with the services they need to thrive.
