UFT Automated Systems & Mechatronics Technology Instructor (Automation Robotics Engineering)
We are seeking instructors dedicated to excellence in teaching who desire to make a difference in the lives of our students. Teaching assignments will be located at the Riverland campus of Albert Lea. The instructor may be assigned to teach in a traditional classroom and lab format as well as online, hybrid, and interactive television formats. Classes meet during daytime hours.
The candidate must be able to work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and college laboratory assistants in lab settings, demonstrate knowledge of and experience in assessment of student learning outcomes, participate in department meetings, curriculum development, and college-wide committees, and maintain ongoing professional development activities.
Minimum Qualifications

Associate degree from an automated systems and mechatronics, electrical/mechanic systems, or fluid power program.
- Four full-time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience in automated systems, mechatronics, electrical/mechanic, or fluid power.
- One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.

- Faculty shall have a degree in education or three years of successful full-time (or equivalent) teaching experience before being hired, or shall be required to complete coursework in the above content areas (or their equivalent) before being granted unlimited status.
- These courses shall be waived for individuals who at the time of hire have: a degree in education, or have documented evidence of successful completion of equivalent coursework in the specified teaching and learning content areas, or have three years of successful, full-time (or equivalent) secondary, postsecondary, industry, or trade apprenticeship teaching experience in the field for which they are being hired. Preferred Qualification
- Demonstrated knowledge of Robotics, PLC, Electrical and Pneumatic Systems;
- Ability to provide leadership in curriculum development and academic assessment activities;
- Commitment to departmental participation, vision, and planning;
- Bilingual/Multilingual fluent in Spanish, Somali, Karen, Anuak, Nuer, or other languages that reflect our student body, workforce, and communities.
- Demonstrated experience working with multicultural and underserved populations.
