Assistant Street Superintendent

The city is seeking a skilled and motivated Assistant Street Superintendent to oversee the daily operations of the street department.  This supervisory position plays a key role in coordinating and directing work related to street maintenance and repair, including snow removal, salt/sand application, roadway patching, seal coating, chip sealing, and general upkeep of public infrastructure.
 
Working closely with the street superintendent and sewer maintenance supervisor, this position is responsible for the planning, organizing, and supervision of construction, maintenance, and operational activities involving city streets, the municipal airport, and other related facilities.

This is a hands-on supervisory role requiring both leadership and field expertise in municipal maintenance operations.
 
Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or GED, along with technical training in street maintenance, construction, or a related field.  Four (4) years of experience in the construction, repair, and maintenance of street and storm drainage systems, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.  A valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License is also required.
 
This is an exempt; salary position, with a salary range of $79,310.40 – $113,318.40 ($38.13 – $54.48/hr.); however, the starting wage, within the range, is dependent upon qualifications.  The city provides a comprehensive benefits package, as well as optional coverages.  A full range of paid and unpaid leave options are also offered.
