Water Quality Specialist/GIS Technician

The City of Austin is hiring a fulltime detail-oriented individual to manage our GIS mapping systems and support city-wide stormwater and water quality programs. This position contributes to environmental planning efforts and conducts inspections to ensure compliance with state and local water quality regulations.

Qualified applicants will have an associate’s degree in GIS, environmental studies, resource management, stormwater management, or a related field, along with two years of relevant experience; an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will also be considered. A valid driver’s license is required. Certifications in construction inspector/installer and construction site manager must be obtained within one year of hire.

Wage range: $32.90 – $47.00 per hour, starting wage, within the range, is dependent upon qualifications The City also provides a comprehensive benefits package, including health, life, and long-term disability insurance, as well as optional coverages like short-term disability, dental, vision, and others.  A full range of paid and unpaid leave options are also offered.
