Position description
Austin Utilities is seeking a talented and self-driven Communications Assistant to join our communications team. Under the general supervision of the Communications & Energy Services Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for activities related to marketing, communications and providing customer service activities to business customers.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Creates and assists with communication and promotional tasks to all areas of the company on a project basis, including planning, writing, proofing, editing, and/or producing communication materials. Placing media, research and compiling customer data.
- Creates and monitors social media content. Complies reports on digital audiences.
- Creates and produces videos.
- Creates content, organizes and participates in AU sponsored events.
- Performs updates to Austin Utilities website, CIS online and messaging platforms.
Minimum and Desired Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED certificate, four-year bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
- Two (2) years of experience in marketing and communications field. Five (5) years of experience, ideally in communications or customer service is preferred
