Know Someone Who Would Be a Great Lifeguard? Maybe It is You!
The City of Austin is hiring certified lifeguards (ages 15 and up) for the 2025 summer season (June – August) at our municipal swimming pool. Pay ranges from $13.50 to $16.00 per hour, with flexible schedules during our 7-day-a-week operation.
Lifeguards are essential to pool operations and play a key role in keeping all areas open, including the slide, diving well, and main pool, without enough staff, we cannot open all features. If you, or someone you know, wants to spend the summer outdoors, stay active, and be part of a team that keeps the fun going safely, apply today!
Get Certified and Get Reimbursed!
The YMCA will be offering lifeguard training and certification May 16 – 18. The cost is $150 for YMCA members and $175 for non-members. Registration is required and is completed through the YMCA.
If you are hired as a City of Austin lifeguard and work this summer, we will reimburse you your full certification cost!
Applications can be found on the City’s website at www.ci.austin.mn.us (under employment) or at City Hall – 500 4th Avenue NE. Applications will be accepted and reviewed on an on-going basis, through our parks, recreation, and forestry department.
